This spring, students in grades 3 through 8 and grades 10 through 12 will take state assessments in math, English language arts and science.

Grades 3-8 and 10 will take the Smarter Balanced English language arts (ELA) and math assessments.

Grades 5, 8 and 11 will take the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS)
These assessments give students, families and schools valuable data that helps us understand student and school strengths and challenges compared to peers in the district and across Washington state.
These ELA, math and science assessments are all designed to be completed in a single online session, though students can take the time they need.
All middle school students at LaVenture and Mount Baker will be taking the assessments on the following dates:

May 2, Grade 8 student only WCAS Extended Home Court

May 9-10, ELA testing in Extended Home Court

May 20-21, Math testing in Extended Home Court

Results from these tests will be available in Skyward Family Access next fall. We will notify families when score reports are available in your child(ren)’s Portfolio on Skyward Family Access. You may also request a paper copy of test results by calling your school.
