Dear Mount Baker Middle School Families,

We hope you are having a relaxing and enjoyable summer.  Before you know it, school will be starting again.  We wanted to take a moment to welcome you to Mount Baker (or welcome you back, in many cases), and to give you some information about dates and events that are coming very soon:

 

  • August 22nd, 11:00 - 12:00: 6th Grade Orientation.  This is a great opportunity to have your 6th grade student come to Mount Baker before the school year, and to meet new classmates, student leaders, and some staff members.   During this time there will be a short parent/guardian presentation with some important school information.   This presentation will be in the Common’s Cafeteria beginning at 11:15.  If you are unable to join us, we will keep sharing key information in other ways via Remind/Parent Square, our Student and Family Newsletter, and our website.

  • August 27th, First day of school: doors open at 7:00; classes begin at 7:30 and end at 2:00.  This is a full day.  There will be tables in the courtyard for students to access schedules as needed.

  • September 1st, Labor Day - NO SCHOOL

  • September 15th,  Boys & Girls Club - 21st Century:  After-School program begins (students must sign up in advance)

  • September 18th, Open House/Meet the Teacher from 5:30 - 6:30. This night is a great opportunity to meet and introduce yourself to your child’s teachers.  Mount Baker Middle School and Little Mountain Elementary will be hosting our Open Houses on the same night and hope this will be an annual event. 

  • October 16, Picture Day - more information will be provided at a later date

ACADEMIC SUPPLIES -- The following list of supplies are needed to support student success.  All other supplies needed for students to be successful in class will be supplied by  Mount Baker Middle School. We will not let supplies be a barrier to students and families.  Please provide what you reasonably can, and know that we will provide supplies at school for any student who needs them. 

    Needed:  

  • Backpack/Daypack

  • 1 - Binder 1/2 to 1 inch

  • Subject dividers (8)

  • #2 Pencils - 3 packs of 24 (prefer pre-sharpened)

  • 3 - Boxes of tissue

  • Optional: Hand sanitizer - for your students personal use

  • Optional: Earphones/headphones with a cord (not wireless) - (students use these with our Chromebooks for educational purposes

Student schedules will be available as we get closer to the start of the school year.  

The school office will be open during August from 7:30 to 3:00 Mon - Fri; you can reach us at (360) 428-6127.   Until then, we are looking forward to meeting you in person and are excited for the new school year!

Estimadas familias de la escuela secundaria Mount Baker:

Esperamos que estén disfrutando de un verano relajante y agradable. Antes de que se den cuenta, las clases comenzarán de nuevo.   • 22 de agosto, 11:00 - 12:00: Grado 6 Orientación  Esta es una gran oportunidad para que su estudiante de sexto grado venga a Mount Baker antes del inicio del año escolar y conozca a nuevos compañeros, líderes estudiantiles y algunos miembros del personal. Durante este tiempo, habrá una breve presentación para padres/tutores con información escolar importante. Esta presentación se realizará en la cafetería del Common a partir de las 11:15. Si no puede acompañarnos, seguiremos compartiendo información clave por otros medios a través de Remind/Parent Square, nuestro boletín informativo para estudiantes y familias, y nuestro sitio web..

  • 27 de agosto, primer día de clases:Las puertas abren a las 7:00; las clases comienzan a las 7:30 y terminan a las 2:00. Es un día completo. Habrá mesas en el patio para que los estudiantes puedan consultar los horarios cuando los necesiten.

  • 1 de septiembre, Día del Trabajo - NO HAY CLASES

  • 15 de septiembre, Boys & Girls Club - Siglo XXI:Comienza el programa extraescolar (los estudiantes deben inscribirse con anticipación)

  • 18 de septiembre,(open house conozca la escuela y los profesores de 5:30 a 6:30.Esta noche es una gran oportunidad para conocer y presentarse a los maestros de su hijo/a. La Escuela Intermedia Mount Baker y la Escuela Primaria Little Mountain celebrarán sus jornadas de puertas abiertas esa misma noche y esperamos que se convierta en un evento anual.

  • 16 de octubre, Día de la Fotografía- Se proporcionará más información en una fecha posterior.

MATERIALES ACADÉMICOS--La siguiente lista de útiles escolares es necesaria para el éxito académico de los estudiantes. La Escuela Intermedia Mount Baker proporcionará todos los demás útiles escolares necesarios para el éxito académico.No permitiremos que los suministros sean una barrera para los estudiantes y las familias.Por favor proporcione lo que razonablemente pueda.y sepan que proporcionaremos útiles escolares en la escuela para cualquier estudiante que los necesite.

    Necesario:  

  • Mochila/Mochila de día

  • 1 - Carpeta de 1/2 a 1 pulgada

  • Divisores de temas (8)

  • Lápices n.° 2: 3 paquetes de 24 (preferiblemente ya afilados)

  • 3 - Cajas de pañuelos

  • Opcional:Desinfectante de manos: para uso personal de sus estudiantes

  • Opcional:Auriculares/audífonos con cable (no inalámbricos) - (los estudiantes los usan con nuestras Chromebooks con fines educativos)

Los horarios de los estudiantes estarán disponibles a medida que nos acerquemos al inicio del año escolar.
