*Please note that School Counselors do not provide therapy. Referrals for outside counseling services are available upon request for children experiencing grief, family/life changes, and/or mental health concerns.

MBMS School Counselors empower all students to achieve academic, social/emotional and career/college success.

We collaborate with students, their families, school staff and the community to support achievment and well being.

The relationship is built on trust. To support all students' rights to privacy and provide a safe space to engage in honest and meaningful conversation, School Counselors follow ASCA ethical stanards of confidentiality. What students share in the Counseling Office will stay confidential.

There are a few exceptions when the School Counselor must break confidentiality:

• Student is at risk of harming themselves or others

• Student is being harmed by others

• Student gives permission to share infor-mation with a trusted adult

• Court ordered disclosure

• The limits of confidentiality exist to prevent serious and foreseeable harm.
